Depending on your skin condition, we will carefully calibrate the amount of UV to be delivered. Then we apply the Excimer 308nm handpiece to precisely focus a cool beam of ultraviolet light to only the affected area.

Excimer laser treatment is not safe if you have:

• A history of cutaneous cancers
• Photodermatosis
• Lupus
• Photosensitising skin conditions

 

It is also not suitable for you if you are pregnant or under 16 years of age.

 

The sensation of the Excimer laser treatment is often described as similar to the snap of a thin rubber band, with many opting for no anaesthetic.

 

Some people experience a slight reddening of the treatment area after the session. However, this naturally resolves in a few minutes to several days – depending on your skin sensitivity.*

Selecting the right UV settings to treat your pigmentary disorder is crucial. That’s why we always take a full medical history during your consultations to evaluate suitability. Some of the side effects or associated risks could be; skin irritation, redness, swelling, peeling, skin pigmentation and soreness, 1-5 days after the procedure.*
